Entry Requirements for Wildcat Bike Adventures Tours

Thinking about hopping on one of our motorbike tours? Before you pack your helmet, you’ll want to know the basics that let you ride with us safely and legally. We keep the rules simple so you can focus on the excitement, not the paperwork.

Who Can Join Our Tours?

First off, you need to be at least 18 years old. That’s the legal age for riding most of the bikes we provide on our UK routes. If you’re 16 or 17, you can still join a few guided rides, but only on a learner‑approved machine and with a qualified instructor alongside you.

Next, a valid UK motorcycle licence is a must. We accept a full Category A licence or a Category A2 licence for bikes up to 35 kW. If you hold a provisional licence, you’ll need an Approved Driving Instructor (ADI) with a motorcycle endorsement to ride with us.

Health matters, too. You should be in good physical condition – riding can be demanding, especially on hilly terrain or off‑road tracks. If you have a heart condition, back issues, or epilepsy, we’ll ask for a doctor’s note confirming you’re fit for the ride.

Essential Gear and Documentation

Safety gear isn’t optional – it’s part of the entry checklist. Bring a **DOT‑approved helmet**, sturdy boots, gloves, and a high‑visibility jacket. If you forget any of these, we have rental gear on site, but it’s cheaper to bring your own.

Insurance is another non‑negotiable item. You need personal motorbike insurance that covers rides with third‑party operators. If you’re not sure, we can recommend short‑term policies that work for a weekend adventure.

Documentation is straightforward: show us your licence, insurance proof, and a photo ID (passport or driver’s licence). You’ll sign a short waiver that outlines the risks involved and confirms you understand the tour rules.

Finally, a booking deposit is required to lock in your spot. We ask for a 30% deposit when you reserve, with the balance due 7 days before the start date. Cancellations made earlier than 48 hours get a full refund; later than that, we keep the deposit.

That’s the whole picture. If you meet the age, licence, health, gear and insurance checks, you’re good to go. Got questions? Shoot us an email or call our friendly support team – we love helping riders get ready for the road.

Can I enter the UK for tourism if I have an Irish student visa?
Can I enter the UK for tourism if I have an Irish student visa?

As an international student studying in Ireland, I explored the possibility of visiting the UK with my Irish student visa. Unfortunately, the Irish student visa does not grant automatic entry into the UK for tourism. You'll need to apply for a UK Standard Visitor Visa to enter the UK for travel purposes. The application process is straightforward, but it does require some planning. So, if you're in my shoes, don't forget to do your homework before you start packing your bags for that UK trip!
