Our 25 years' experience riding throughout Morocco enables us to provide an exciting combination of superb road and offroad riding with options to suit all abilities.
Join us for an unforgettable journey and ride from the Atlantic to the Sahara on the high passes, valleys, and gorges of the Atlas Mountains. We ride some of the fantastic desert sections in the Dakar Rally.
On tour there is absolutely no pressure - you ride at your own pace. We will have plenty of rest stops throughout the day to catch your breath, take on food & fluids and admire the incredible views. The focus of this tour is on enjoyment - it is not a race!
 
We enter Morocco and ride to the Imperial City of Marrakech before heading West to Agadir on the Atlantic coast where our 'journey ' begins.
From the Atlantic Coast we ride east through the spectacular canyons of the Anti Atlas Mountains. We ride the classic Dakar desert pistes to Merzouga below Erg Chebbi - Morocco's highest dune.
Our route north is on the quiet roads and pistes of the eastern High Atlas Mountains and down through the Middle Atlas and finally the RIF Mountains and the Mediterranean Coast.

The pistes in Morocco are always changing due to weather and upgrading in many areas.
What might have been suitable to ride a month ago may be totally washed out and impassable today.
With our intimate knowledge and experience of the mountains/desert pistes over 25 years we are able to adapt our routes to suit changing conditions.

Day 1 - Meet at accommodation in Tarifa
Meet at 19:00hrs for a tour briefing and introductions.
Overnight in hotel.
(Riding down through Spain is quick and easy. Call us for advice on route and accommodation including ferry options pre/post tour)
Day 2 - Clear Moroccan Customs
Early morning fast ferry to Tangier. Ride down motorway to Marrakech.
Opportunity to visit the famous Jemaa el-Fnaa square in the evening

Day 3- Ride to Agadir on Atlantic Coast
We ride the back road towards the High Atlas and cross the motorway to ride down Paradise Valley to the Atlantic Coast

Day 4- Anti Atlas Mountains & Berber villages
Ride spectacular trails into the heart of the mountains through valleys and gorges to our small Berber town high in the mountains.

Day 5- Anti Atlas & Gorgeous Gorges
An exciting ride through a canyon system with oasis & palm trees, fruit trees, patchwork fields and ancient Berber forts high in the cliffs.

Day 6- Jbel Bani Mountains & Desert Towns
We ride part of an old Paris-Dakar route through the Jbel Bani Mountains onto a high plateau.
Overnight in a magnificent Kasbah (2 nights) overlooking the High Atlas Mountains.

Day 7- The foothills of the High Atlas Mountains
A day ride on easy trails with a few river crossings to the explore the exotic Kasbahs of Ait Ben Haddou. They were the background for famous films such as Gladiator, Kundun, Laurence of Arabia etc. A photographer's dream! You may opt to stay at your accommodation and have a complete rest.

Day 8- Jbel Sarhro & the Draa Valley
We cross the Jbel Sarhro and follow the River Draa and its long ribbon of Palmeries and numerous villages to our desert town.

Day 9- Dakar Pistes
An unforgettable ride winding its way east through the mountains bordering the northern tip of the Sahara desert. A great opportunity to enjoy some of the classic Dakar pistes.

Day 10- Trail of the Mummies & Erg Chebbi
We ride east on quiet desert roads to our desert piste (Trail of the Mummies) then south to our desert Riad overlooking the famous Erg Chebbi the highest dunes in Morocco.

Day 11- Desert to the High Atlas
We ride north on quiet roads into the Eastern High Atlas through remote villages to finish on an easy piste to our kasbah on a high plateau

Day 12- The Middle Atlas to the RIF Mountains
We ride across the high plateaus of the Middle Atlas and down through the cedar forests (look out for the Barbary apes!). We ride through the Imperial City of Meknes into the RIF Mountains. Enroute we have an opportunity to visit the famous Roman site of Volubilis.
Overnight in hotel in a colourful Berber village high in the mountains.

Day 13- Out of Africa
We ride west out of the RIF Mountains take our ferry to Spain.

Note: Offroad mileages can be increased or reduced to suit the group's fitness and experience
TERRAIN
Our tour is a mix of road and offroad riding. The offroad sections (pistes) are generally landrover width. The surfaces are a combination of hard packed (hamada) and gravel roads. There will be dry riverbed crossings with a combination of sand and gravel. River crossings will be generally short.
Offroad tyres are essential.

The final balance of your holiday is due 3 months prior to departure at which point you will receive a Tour Package to include a detailed Itinerary, Morocco Travel information, Document Checklist, Emergency numbers, Rooming List, and Sticker for your bike.
When we meet you will receive a map providing a detailed description of each day's ride, and highlights.

OVERLAND Tour
OFFROAD EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Participants should have experience with the following offroad skills:
ascend & descend hills with confidence
ride ruts
river crossings
ride muddy or sandy terrain
gravel rocky pistes
lift, manoeuvre, and balance your bike
hill recovery situations
Our tour has been specifically designed for riders with extensive road riding experience and the offroad experience described above.
Our routes will appeal to riders interested in enjoying the scenery and the culture in wild unspoilt places.
The route provides an ideal combination of exciting remote surfaced roads and easy to difficult offroad riding in the mountains and the desert.
There is flexibility to accommodate riders of variable skills and fitness.

- enduro type jacket & trousers

- helmet (with chin guard)

TYRES:
Your bike must be fitted with suitable road legal Offroad tyres such as

which are good both on and offroad
