Biking Profile

We enjoy the very best of the Outer Hebridean Islands (Berneray, North Uist, Harris, Lewis). We ride the iconic QUIRAING on Skye, the Golden Road on Harris, and the BEALACH-NA BA on Applecross.

A relaxing ride on quiet island roads always twisting and turning through glens, past small lochs, opening up spectacular sea and mountain vistas



A route designed by John Fulton from experience gained over 30 Years leading adventure tours throughout Scotland.

John leads this tour.


Distances vary from 80 to 200 miles on the tour. A typical day's riding starts at 9am and we reach our destination around 4pm - providing plenty of time to relax and explore the numerous points of interest.

Day 1 - Meet at our hotel in STIRLING for a 19:00hrs tour briefing and dinner.

Stirling is the ancient capital of Scotland and the gateway to the highlands. We recommend you arrive early and visit Stirling Castle, Wallace Monument, and the Battle of Bannockburn visitor centre.

Day 2 - Ride north through the TROSSACHS and ROB ROY COUNTRY, and the majestic GLENCOE. We take time to visit the Glencoe Interpretation Centre enroute to FORT WILLIAM.

Day 3 - We ride west through one of Europe's last true wilderness areas - Knoydart and onto the ISLE OF SKYE. We enjoy some of the oldest drove routes used by the Highlanders to bring their cattle and produce to market.

Day 4 - A great morning ride taking in a visit to DUNVEGAN CASTLE - the ancestral home of the Chiefs of the Clan MacLeod for over 800 years. It is the oldest inhabited castle in Scotland. Afternoon ferry (included) to Harris.

Day 5 - Today we enjoy the best ride on the Hebridean chain of islands as we ride the Golden Road of SOUTH HARRIS and enjoy a coffee stop at a hotel once frequented by Queen Victoria. An opportunity to take the short ferry ride (excluded in price) to NORTH UIST to enjoy the deserted white sandy beaches, bird life, and the wild flowers.

On our return to Harris we visit the island of BERNERAY - the "Jewel in the Crown" of the Outer Hebridean Islands. Prince Charles holidayed on Berneray. Opportunity to see the elusive sea otter and explore an ancient Iron Age Broch.

Day 6 - We end our visit to the Outer Hebridean Islands with a magnificent ride north to STORNAWAY on LEWIS. Enroute we visit the ancient STANDING STONES of CALLANISH and the black houses. Afternoon ferry (included) to ULLAPOOL on the mainland.

Day 7 - We ride south around the magnificent mountains and lochs of WESTER ROSS. We stop for a coffee break at the world famous INVEREWE GARDENS - option for unguided ride over the famous BEALACH-NA BA pass in APPLECROSS.

Our route takes us through magnificent KINTAIL and LOCHABER to STIRLING.
